Mvc Into Building

Thursday, July 2, 2015

At 15:30 hours the CWFC was alerted for a motor vehicle collision.  Initial reports indicated a single vehicle collided with several vehicles and then a building and the driver was trapped.  Rescue 41 went responding at 15:32 with a crew of 5 under the direction of Deputy Chief Dufresne.  Upon arrival, Rescue 41s crew assisted BLS with rapidly extricating the patient from the vehicle.  The patient was transported to Kent General Hospital with ALS on board.  Command then requested the Kent County Special Operations Team to stabilize the building due to a weight bearing wall being compromised.  Upon arrival of the Spec Ops team, they made quick work of shoring the unstable wall.  All units cleared the scene at 17:01 turning the scene over to DSP for investigation.

Units on scene: Rescue 41, Engine 41-1, Ambulance A41, Kent Medics 5 and 7, Utility 41-8, Engine 51-7, Light and Air 51-10, Special Ops 43-1 and Utility 53-9.
